Yoga Nidra—meditation, relaxation, release—should be a regular practice area for all of us. Based on numerous requests, I am pleased to share this as an ongoing monthly offering at no cost to join. 

Yoga Nidra is derived from two Sanskrit words: Yoga meaning union or one-pointed awareness, and Nidra which means sleep.

Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation technique practiced comfortably lying down in Savasana (resting on your back pose). In Yoga Nidra, the practice includes using body scanning, breath awareness, and imagery to induce deep relaxation, freedom, and ease.

You'll be lead through classic restorative yoga poses to create gentle openings, which bring the body back to

You'll be fully supported in each pose, allowing the muscles to relax and open while encouraging the release of stress, anxiety, and toxins that can cause illness. While in these poses Jess, a certified Reiki Master, will share the healing touch of distant Reiki. Reiki is a form of energy therapy that enhances the natural healing system of the body and creates relaxation and a sense of well-being. During Reiki, the brain goes into an alpha state similar to that experience during meditation or right before falling asleep.

It has also been shown to relieve both chronic and acute pain, ease depression and anxiety, and increase the white blood cell count, which gives the immune system a boost. The combination of Restorative Yoga and Reiki Healing provides a night of powerful healing and beautiful relaxation.

This is a class for everyone. I want to especially center those of you who believe they can't meditate, or who aren't sure how to get started. 

NEXT WORKSHOP:  May 22nd• 2pm

But for the experienced meditators in the crowd, this is an opportunity to look at your practice with new eyes. This is about bringing your innate skills and abilities as a human being to bear on the raw (partially cooked?) materials of human experience, getting in the flow and really enjoying being you. Easy peasy.
